The Cornish Fasty // Extreme Video Production Exeter 

Trying to keep up with Jay Williams isn’t the easiest of tasks…. a single Sharp Films Videographer to keep up with all the activity.  Gawton Gravity Hub, One of the best downhill mountain bike trails in the south west, and where all the action took place.  The weather also added to the challenge, misty to start, light drizzle and then dry, great considering everything had to be shot on foot, not easy when you have to run to keep up, carrying a lot of equipment.  Filming and Editing South West

This action packed Sharp Film was one of our most challenging  assignments, I decided, because of the location and type of terrain, that one camera closer to the action, would add to the actual feel of the shoot.  Almost as soon as it all began I was beginning to doubt my decision, the physical effort required just keeping up with Jay was extremely demanding, but working with him was fantastic, his experience with other film crews helped as we setup positions for jumps and other complicated shots.  Overall the shoot went extremely well, although very exhausting. The kit used was kept to the minimum, a Sony A7Sii & FS5 and Movi M5 Gimbal.

Jay Williamson Downhill // Videographer & Editor Devon

Sharp Films, proud to work with Jay who is 24 years of age, lives in Cornwall, and has competed at the Downhill World cup series, finishing 7th Elite in the British overall Downhill series.  He is currently riding for the Steve Peat Syndicate, Santa Cruz Bicycles, Royal racing, 7th protection and Horizon watches.  Local riding spots are, Woodys Bike Park, Cornwall, and Gawton Gravity Hub, Devon. Jay is a fine example to his profession, through hard work and determination, he has achieved much, but his real reward is the self satisfaction for those achievements and this is just the beginning of his success! A. Fresh. New. Look // Creative 4K Video Production Devon

Over the last few months we’ve been working on updating the look for the Sharp Films brand. Its always been really important for our branding to match up to our work. We wanted to create a new bold, unique and easy to read logo that says exactly what It does on the tin. The website has had some updates over the last few weeks as well; all of the updated branding and photos being added onto the website so everything matches up. Like our logo, we want our website to be a platform to show you what Sharp Films is really about! With our new look website you are instantly hit with visuals that give you a really good indication of our style and creative flair.    

New Showreel // Filming & Editing Services Devon

2017, how are we more than half way through you already? Its been a fantastic year so far! We have been able to work with some great business’s in Devon but also much further afield. To accompany our new look website we have created a new showreel with all the films we have shot this year. The CocktailKings Promo Film // 4K Filming services Exeter

The Cocktail Kings is made up from a couple of great guys, Alex Rogers and Jack Andrews. They  bought a VW Campervan and got it converted into a pop up cocktail bar… I know, an amazing idea right? We were approached by Alex after he saw the Exeter street food film we shot and he liked what he saw! They decided that our social media package suited their needs best and booked us in for half a day of filming at the Budleigh Food & Drink Festival. It was great to catch up with the chaps and capture their brilliant little business in full swing. The weather was on their side all weekend and had a fantastic opening weekend. We wanted to capture how unique and brilliant the CocktailKings really are and kept it short and sweet for social media use.

Promotional Video Production Exeter | 4K Video Production Devon

On the Waterfront is a fantastic restaurant that is based on the picturesque part of Exeter, the “Quay”.  We were approached by Chris who manages the restaurant and he wanted us to create a unique and engaging video that showed off what makes On The Waterfront stand out from the rest. We were blessed with fantastic weather for the shoot.The Quay and On The Waterfront restaurant naturally has a great fantastic atmosphere so it was easy to capture lots of happy faces. The restaurant is known for its legendary pizza’s so it was important to capture these being made and consumed… of course we had to try a slice, or two! We have spoken before about the importance of social media and quality video content and it really has never been so powerful. The image below has some great stats about Facebook video.It shows that Facebook generates an average of 8 billion video views a day. Added to this is the organic reach of video is up 135% since 2015… This shows that engaging video content and social media is a winning combination for brand awareness! SunGift Testimonial Film

SunGift approached Sharp Films about creating a Testimonial film that would explain their services and show of  their products. Their main aim of the film was to explain to potential clients the advantages of using LED lighting in schools and other business’s. Video Production Devon

I wanted to create a very simple explanation of how the process works start to finish to create a promotional film. This process is pretty much the same for every project that is taken on; obviously the size of the project will determine how long it takes to do each stage from planning through to completion. One of the biggest and most important aims of Sharp Films is for the client to have trust in us. When a new project is starting I go through this simple process so that you know exactly what happens and when.

Plan it

I will come and meet with you or talk on the phone about your project idea or brief. This is also a time for me to understand more about your business or product. This is important so that I can make any recommendations to how the film could work. Often I am able to bounce different idea’s around that you might not of thought of and adapt the idea to be more engaging or creative. Once I understand the brief and your business I can go away and create a general plan for the shoot.

The Shoot

This is when I can get all the toys out! I shoot on some of the most up to date videography equipment available and if needed have a further production team I can bring in to assist on the shoot. Having a solid brief is always very important at this stage. Having the time to be creative is even more important tho. Often taking a step back and just shooting what works is best thing you can do ! You can capture some of those special moments or intricate details that take your film up a notch.

The Edit

The edit is my favourite part of the whole process. This is where I get to put together the creation and make the vision a reality. I use a professional and high quality edit suite powered by Apple Macs. The footage firstly gets logged in order of appearance. Then the soundtrack is added, colour is graded and then a final tighten. I then watch through to make sure I am 100% happy with the edit. The client will then be able to review the edit and I can make any further changes needed.
