John Gandy’s in Exeter is one of the most popular and when known bars In Exeter. Chris who Manages John Gandy’s and also The Waterfront down by the Quay got in contact about creating a promotional film for the bar to show off its updated look. The idea of the film was to show all area’s of John Gandys! It is well known for being one of the best sports bars in Exeter but people may not know that it has a fantastic cocktail bar upstairs named Spirit and also has some great bands playing there. The aim of the video was to promote all the sides to the bar and generally show the brilliant atmosphere and what makes it so unique.
The shoot was broken up into two separate nights. The first part of the shoot we got a lot of the close up shots of the cocktails being created and drinks poured. On the second night of filming is where we got the most of our footage! John Gandys had a fantastic band playing on the stage and it really filled the bar and made the atmosphere incredible. Its so much easier shooting a promotional film like this when you can see that everyone is genuinely having a great time! It was a little snug at times and making sure that beer wasn’t getting thrown over the camera was at the top my head.
